Bato Capital, formerly operating as Bato Partners, was established in 1995 by Michael Bato and Alan Horn to provide independent Investment Banking Services to local and international public and private company clients.

Alan Horn was employed as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse ( now PWC ) in their Sydney and Montreal offices prior to joining Amalgamated Metal Corp.'s Australian operations ( a member of the Preussag Group ) as Finance Director before establishing his own corporate advisory business.       

       

Michael Bato, who sadly passed away in 2013, had a distinguished career in Merchant Banking for over 20 years, including a Director of Barclays Australia Limited, Deputy Chairman & CEO of Wardley Australia Ltd. / HSBC Sydney and Managing Director of Scandinavian Bank Group. Michael retired from the firm in 2004 and was retained as a consultant to the firm until 2008.       

       

The firm's team has demonstrated an extensive background in investment banking, corporate advisory and corporate finance activities in a wide range of industries throughout Australia and overseas.
