Alan Horn

Alan was employed as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse (now PwC) in their Sydney and Montreal offices before joining Amalgamated Metal group plc (a member of the Preussag Group) as Finance Director for their Australian operations.

During his period with PW Sydney, Alan managed the Dalgety, Alcan & Pechiney accounts and whilst in PW Montreal, his accounts included Canadian Pacific, Domtar, CIBC and members of the Bronfman family (founders of the Seagram Group). At AMC, Alan assumed operational responsibilities for minerals & metals trading, mine management (foundry chromite and silica sands) as well as a NED for a tin smelter JV with BHP, in addition to his finance management role.

Prior to establishing Bato Partners with Michael Bato, Alan operated his own corporate advisory business with a specific focus on mergers & acquisitions, equity raisings (including the initial Solution 6 IPO) and strategic business planning.

Alan’s extensive commercial experience over a wide range of industries provides a unique expertise in delivering industry relevant advice to clients in transaction execution as well as other corporate advisory services.

Recent successful client transactions include the sales of Autonomous Energy ( commercial solar engineering ), Leda Security Products ( perimeter security engineering ), Core IT Services ( software ), Clade Solutions ( software ) and a compliance IPO listing for TeamInvest Private ( circa $100 million market cap. at issue price ). A current client mandate is advising Software Combined, a software business aggregator, on its acquisition programme.
